We are 100% volunteer, from top to bottom. Our volunteers are passionate about the work they do and the guests they help. We are always looking for volunteers to support us with Recycle Bicycle’s mission, which is …to provide all residents of the greater Harrisburg area – especially those of limited means – with access to safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly transportation in the form of bicycles.
Even if you have NO knowledge of bicycle repair, we are willing to teach you every step of the way. There are numerous opportunities to work in many different areas of the shop, we have an area you are sure to find suits your interest. If you prefer, we even have things to do that don’t require fixing bicycles.
If you are interested in helping or the least bit curious, please come by during our open shop hours, Mondays, noon-4pm, Tuesdays 5-8pm, and Saturdays 9am-noon, to see how we operate. You will be matched with a volunteer mechanic to assess your skills. If you are willing to join our team, the only requirement is to review and sign a volunteer waiver. So come see us!
NOTE: Beginning June 1 through August 31, RBH is adding an additional weekday to our hours of operation. We will open our shop from 2-6pm on Thursdays. Hopefully this will help relieve some of the demand on other open shop hours. We still need folks to help on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays.
