With the welcome of spring warm weather, we are seeing a growing number of people who need bikes.
Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg has an URGENT NEED for adult size bicycles – currently our inventory is low. The adult bikes sizes are 24”and 26” (these are usually based on tire sizes). Have an old bike sitting in your garage that you never ride anymore? Please bring them to our shop on our open shop hours or contact us to schedule a pickup. Tell your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors …. we need bikes!
Between March 4th and May 1st – 280 bicycles were registered to adults and kids! Over 125 were for adults, many of whom use their bikes for basic daily transportation.
As a guide, here are the types of bicycles we accept:
Adult & kids bikes – road, mountain, hybrid, gravel bikes, balance bikes, unicycles, and recumbent bikes.
Bikes that need some sort of mechanical repair – this includes non-rideable bikes that we can deconstruct for parts.
Bicycle parts – wheels, chains, pedals, derailleurs, seats, brakes, stems, seat posts, forks, etc.
Accessories – water bottles, mirrors, helmets, trailers, etc.
No bicycle should go into a landfill. The volunteers at RBH give it new life, and if that’s not an option, we will strip it for parts and recycle the metal. That’s us, Recycle Bicycle, it’s what we do. Your donations are needed and appreciated!
If you have a bike to donate, bring it to Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg during our shop hours:
MONDAY: 12 noon to 4:00 pm
TUESDAY: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
THURSDAY: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Summer Hours Only June 1 to August 31)
SATURDAY: 9:00 am to 12 noon
